Important Antique & Fine Art Auction on the instructions of Mr K. Rosencrantz. The entire contents of 'The Olde Railway Hotel' (founded c1790), Westport, Co Mayo. Auction on Sun 27th May 2007 at 1pm. Built by Lord Sligo in 1780, The Olde Railway Hotel is perhaps the longest established Hotel in Ireland. In his work 'A journey throughout Ireland' written in 1834, Inglis wrote that 'Robinsons' as it was then known, was without doubt the best Hotel in Ireland, without excepting The Gresham, Imperial or Clarendon. The Rosenkranz family have continued that tradition of excellence over the past twenty five years. During which time they continuously added to the hotels collection of antiques, art and collectibles, in order to create the unique ambiance for which it was renowned by it's many distinguished guests.
